At CMCS (Cardinal McCloskey Community Services), our mission is to protect, empower and promote independence for at-risk children and families and those with developmental disabilities through quality community based services.
The Assistant Teacher plays an important role in the lives of the children and families we support. Assists the Lead Teach with delivery of a daily education program for the class, providing an atmosphere in which the children will develop a love for learning. Conducts home visits along with appropriate staff member. Establishes daily routine and appropriate transitions; to be achieved by providing nurturing and responsive practices, interactions and environments that foster trust and emotional security for children in a daily basis. Utilizes child development database (TSG) and Head Start database (Childplus), with accuracy on a weekly basis.
Education & Experience
- Caring, upbeat personality.
- Child Development Associate Credential with specific Infant/ Toddler module or course work towards with active study plan to complete.
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education with 12 credits in infant/toddler development.
- Previous experience in a Head Start Program or other Early Childhood Setting.
- Two years' work experience meeting position competencies.
Additional Requirements
- Daily access to reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass and maintain acceptable record related to the mandated criminal background check process.
- Salary commensurate with experience.
