What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caregiver position at Care Facility?
Intermediate Care Facility looking for a caregiver who will provide routine daily nursing care to assigned residents in accordance with all standards. This is a 6 bed residential home facility.
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year care-giving experience
- Must have CPR certification upon hire. CPR certification must remain current during employment
- Must have a negative Tb test and physical before scheduled
Specific Job Requirements
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm as well as willingness to handle difficult clients.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must be knowledgeable of HIPAA privacy laws and maintain confidential information.
- Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Able to work weekends, 1:15 pm - 9:15 pm
Approx. 32-40 hours a week. At least 2 weekends a month.
Essential Functions
- Must be able to safely lift, turn, push, pull, reposition, and transport patients 50 lbs and over.
- Must be able to assist clients with ADLs: showers, personal grooming, feeding, and toileting, etc
- Prepare and serve meals as well as light housekeeping.
- Able to accurately document and chart client care.
- Take Vital signs and willing to complete on job training for medication administration.
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients, staff, and family.
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of patients.
- Must demonstrate dependable and regular attendance.
- Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
- Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
- Bonuses for attendance, picking up additional shifts and staff appreciation.
