Risk and Compliance Analyst

PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE:  

The Risk and Compliance Analyst is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks that could impact the organization’s ability to achieve its mission. The Risk and Compliance Analyst, under the direction of the Director of Compliance, will also help implement new policies, systems, or controls designed to reduce risk. Ensures organization adherence to all business units to Company, State, Federal, and OTDA/DHS/HRSA/FTCA policies and regulations.  The analyst works closely with various departments to ensure compliance with regulations and implement best practices for risk management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the implementation of policies, systems, or controls to reduce risk and ensure compliance
• Research and interpret new regulations, providing recommendations to senior management
• Educate employees about regulatory and legal requirements
• Conduct routine audits to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities
• Manages and reports compliance breaches and exposures to Director of Compliance
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats to the organization
• Implements and maintains internal audit policies and procedures in accordance with regulations and best practices.
• Conducting ad hoc investigations into identified or reported risks.
• Supporting various departments by collecting and coordinating internal compliance data.
• Ensuring complete, accurate, and timely audit information is reported to the Director of Compliance.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates quality improvement/assurance projects; ensures participation and compliance.
• Continuously monitor risk factors and update risk assessments regularly
• As directed by Director of Compliance, organizes, develops and facilitates compliance training for applicable program staff to educate and implement the principles/processes of compliance as an operating strategy to avoid risks
• Assists programs in developing, implementing, and tracking quality improvement indicators; provides indicator data to Director of Compliance to analyze performance, recommend planned targets and monitor progress in accomplishing targets pursuant to DHS/HRA/OTDA/HRSA/FTCA mandates and regulations.
• Make recommendations regarding opportunities for improvement; shares opportunities for improvement, lessons learned and best practices with Director of Compliance.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of corporate compliance requirements and related laws and regulations as mandated or recommended by DHS/HRA/OTDA/HRSA/FTCA, and other agencies

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
• Knowledge of any relevant regulatory standards or compliance requirements
• Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite
• Detail Oriented
• Outstanding presentation and report writing skills, with the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
• Critical thinking skills
• Experience with Not-for-Profit Organizations required.
• Experience with DHS, HRA, OTDA, HRSA, and FTCA preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical thinking and ability to analyze data.
• Occasional travel required.

POSITION SCOPE:

The Risk and Compliance Analyst monitors business processes and performs routine audits to identify potential compliance risks.

PROBLEM SOLVING:  Provide oversight of the compliance development program, monitor development activities, and address issues that may hamper growth and success.

KNOWLEDGE: Duties require a thorough understanding of principles, concepts and methodology associated with compliance process.

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY: Makes routine low-cost expenditures as designated by supervisor.

Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
