What are the responsibilities and job description for the EVS Tech (Linen) - Full Time (Days) position at Care New England?
Environmental Service Technician - Linen Tech services all Departments and all Buildings on Butler Campus. Maintains in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition. Adheres to Butler Hospital Service Standards.
Union, Full time 40 hours a week 7:30 am - 4 pm Monday - Friday.
I. Responsibilities:
- Conduct an inventory of linen and assess the number of items needed.
- Contact linen company via email or phone to arrange for the delivery of clean linen.
- Delivers clean linen to designated areas.
- Restock linen carts, closets, and linen room.
- Weigh and record clean linen upon receipt, as well as soiled linen prior to departure.
- Prepare linen carts for next day delivery.
- Responsible for removal of all waste including: regular rubbish, cardboard, recycle confidential paper, hazardous material.
- Follow proper procedures concerning hazardous waste disposal and handling.
- Sweeps, mops, wet-washes, and vacuums floors.
- Cover EVS Tech duties when needed.
- Moves furniture and completes conference room setups.
- Turns and changes mattresses and completes bed moves
- Disinfects areas by scrubbing or wiping.
- Completes assigned work orders.
- Operates hospital dump truck to move supplies, furniture , or transport waste to the compactors.
- Train other staff when required.
- Reports any mechanical failures and negative conditions.
Performs other duties as required.
Demonstrates competence and compassion in day-to-day interactions with patients, family members, or friends that may be present, either as patients or visitors at Butler Hospital.

Reports to: EVS Manager or Supervisor(s)
Other Relationship: Patients, Family members, all other hospital staff and employees
III. Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma
- Must have valid drivers license.
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Must have the ability to write professional, clear, and concise emails, including attaching relevant documents, and following proper email etiquette.
- Must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and attention to details.
- Must have ability to resolve mathematical problems.
Training and Experience: Ability to follow oral and written instructions. On the job training is provided.
