GENERAL PURPOSE:
Assist the Activities Director in the development, organization, coordination and implementation of comprehensive therapeutic recreation services and programs that meet the needs and interests of each resident.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School graduate or equivalent.
· Must have ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary at accomplish the job.
· Must be able to relate professionally and positively to residents and families and to work cooperatively with others.
· Basic understanding of computer technology, including email use.
· Must maintain regular attendance.
· Must meet all local health regulations, and pass post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry.
· Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, and fun Activities Assistant. The primary role of the Activities Assistant is to assist in planning, implementing and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional spiritual programs, in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan, and additional duties as may be directed by your supervisors. This position includes weekend and holiday hours. Our successful candidate must be comfortable with cigarette smoke, as they will supervise smoke breaks periodically.
Duties: Facilitate group programs as assigned in a timely and efficient manner. Complete required documentation. Contribute to resident care planning preparation. Provide individual programming as assigned. Maintain activity department supplies and equipment. Assist with planning and leadership of special events. Invite, encourage and assist residents’ participation in activity functions. Document attendance and refusals.
