JOB SUMMARY:
The Vice President, Controller for CareQuest Institute for Oral Health is a highly visible role that consistently interacts with the executive team and other senior leaders and is the main point of contact with key business partners. The Controller is responsible for the direction and oversight of all corporate financial and accounting functions of a growing business, inclusive of all aspects of accounting and financial reporting, internal and external, as well as audit oversight. As the primary financial delegate of the CFO, the Controller plays a proactive role in the organization’s accounting, financial management and financial operations, reporting and monitoring of financial performance across the organization to meet its strategic goals.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help drive the financial strategy and vision of the company while creating appropriate processes and procedures
- Implement the latest technology to drive efficiencies and ensure accuracy of results

Own the entity-wide consolidation and roll-up of business segments and of all legal entities
- Manage all aspects of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and consolidation process and ensure seamless alignment with FP&A and the management and BOD reporting process
- Work closely with all subsidiary parties to validate and ensure accuracy of all aspects of the monthly financial close and reporting process
- Create and distribute the monthly consolidated financial results to senior executives
- Work closely with CFO and FP&A team to provide strategic insights and analyses via business reports, financial forecasts and statements to understand the financial state of the organization
- Monitor company’s financial results and manage expenses within approved budgets
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and business unit leaders on financial performance and strategy and ensure stakeholders reporting needs are met
- Lead external and state audits and establish strong partnerships with associated auditors
- Responsible for managing tax processes including income tax payments, tax compliance and tax strategy
- Maintain and enhance chart of accounts and overall financial reporting to facilitate management decision-making, GAAP compliance and Stat reporting for regulated entities
- Develop, implement and ensure effective and practical implementation of corporate policies and procedures
- Participate in the development of business strategy and monitor and direct implementation of strategic business plans and financial reporting of KPIs
- Build and lead a high performing team that delivers exceptional business performance and outcomes
- Other duties as needed or required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- Minimum 15 years related financial experience.
- Minimum 10 years of management and financial leadership experience in complex environments.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and day-to-day application to ensure accurate and efficient reporting.
- Experience with developing and implementing financial accounting and reporting systems and process improvement.
- Ability to use strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills to resolve problems and increase productivity.
- Ability to produce high-quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects and prioritize diverse tasks.
- Strategic thinking and leadership experience with an emphasis on relationship management and communication at all levels within an organization.
- Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
- Self-motivated, proactive and able to quickly adapt to change with a proven ability to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Strong skills in word processing, excel, and financial/accounting systems.
- Attends additional training as requested/deemed necessary.
Preferred:
- CPA preferred
- Working knowledge of corporate and not for profit taxation
- Location within the Greater Boston area with willingness to travel – noting that currently the position is hybrid
