What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Medical Assistant position at CareSTL Health?
CareSTL Health is seeking full-time Registered Medical Assistants who function as part of an integrated team to provide collaborative support and facilitate patient care.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Medical Assistant supports the clinical treatment care of patients. Other functions include sustaining patient comfort, managing supplies, listening to patients' needs and educating them on procedures, working efficiently to maintain doctor's schedule, and adhering to all OSHA and safety policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following information is considered the definition of essential functions but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. The Registered Medical Assistant may be reassigned duties and responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other staffing reasons.
- Receive patients: update medical history and conduct patient intake and discharge according to policy and procedure to ensure the best health outcome for our patients and their families
- Prepare patient for examination and assist provider with exam and procedure as needed
- Make follow-up appointment along with giving patient co-pay information for next visit, collect all forms accompanying patient, and verify patient demographics
- Prep chart accurately take age-appropriate vital signs; assist provider with charting as necessary and collect all forms accompanying patient and verify patient demographics
- Conduct patient intake and discharge according to policy and procedure to ensure the best health outcome for our patients and their families
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistant
- Valid registration as a Registered Medical Assistant in the State of Missouri Current CPR Certification
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience working in a Community Health Center/or Physician's Office setting
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of information and techniques for providing excellent patient care
- Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as electronic transmission via facsimile and/or internet
- Good computer skills including the use of office procedures and terminology
- Good self-motivational and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work all health center sites
- Understanding of the complexities of integrating services
- Knowledge of data management through use of IT
Transportation Requirement:
- Must have reliable transportation

- Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
