This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.
Job Purpose and Impact

The Associate Laboratory Technician, will be accountable for food safety and quality inspection process within a specified range. In this role, you will conduct testing of products, maintain testing instruments, manage samples, and summarize / communicate information from testing to both internal and external stakeholders. Key Accountabilities

Conduct routine testing and sample handling following the standard operating procedures.
Maintain the integrity of testing results and testing equipment / instruments by implementing standards and preventative maintenance protocol.
Interact with internal stakeholders such as plant operations to provide testing support and with external stakeholders such as 3rd party laboratories and customers to fulfill requirements.
Identify and analyze deviations to avoid impact and potential risk to the business and customers, report the serious issues to higher level staff for guidance.
Follow company environment and health and safety policies and procedures, identify instances of risky behaviors in the workplace and take appropriate action and escalate serious issues as appropriate.
Attend audits, prepare required documents, and ensure all documentation is completed, current and verified to support production management decisions.
Handle basic clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work for short periods of time in adverse conditions of manufacturing (noise/dust/temperature variations). Preferred Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Strong computer program professional knowledge: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
Experienced in manufacturing as Line Inspectors or equivalent experience.
Lab experience and instrumentation skills.
