Location: Boulder, CO

Schedule: Full Time

Salary: Starting at $100K

 

 

 

OVERVIEW

 

Caribou Thunder is seeking a Program Engineer for the SBIRS mobile unit development program. This role will be accountable for overall engineering technical, cost and schedule performance and is responsible for the identification and closure of technical issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meets/Exceeds all technical commitments made to the program.
  • Tracks Estimated time to Complete/Earned Value Management (ETC/EVM) Metrics to monitor program performance and identify technical or Tech Ops staffing risks, while managing cost/schedule.
  • Ensures requirements baseline in documents, tracked, maintained, and verified.
  • Ensures establishment and tracking of key Technical Performance Measures (TPM).
  • Responsible for ECP estimates, negotiations of giver-receiver relationship dates.
  • Provides timely and accurate projections of engineering resource requirements.
  • Works closely with functional leaders to identify and secure appropriate staffing, coordinates with the PM office and first line managers on proposed engineering staffing changes prior to changes.
  • Works with PM to ensure organizational standard processes are adapted, approved, and followed.
  • Leverages proven processes, lessons learned, and best practices from other parts of business or industry.
  • Ensures program plans and technical baselines are consistent with Program Control processes and Modern Engineering Practices.
  • Responsible for the overall program plan and coordination of the engineering team through completion of development, performance of system testing, environmental testing, and physical/functional audits of military-specification trailers containing computing equipment and communications gear.
  • Drives proper execution of the engineering functions, including subcontractor technical performance.
  • Assists Program Manager as a technical deputy, duties as required

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Earned Value Management (EVM) experience
  • Team lead experience
  • Schedule creation and maintenance experience
  • Comfortable leading a mixed engineering team including one or more of the following:
    software engineers, hardware engineers, information assurance engineers, and/or communications engineers)
  • Ability to work with and negotiate technical solutions with Air Force technical representatives
  • Comfortable with both Windows and Linux (RHEL) environments

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with vehicle mounted C2 systems
  • Experience with tactical enclosures (shelters)
  • Exposure or experience with the SBIRS program or mission
  • Experience with format Test programs and/or formal military environmental testing that takes place at White Sands Missile Range or other such locales
  • Experience leading subcontractors through program execution
  • Experience with proposal development and leading proposal teams
