Duties
- Provide assistance to participants including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition.
- Monitor participants for any changes in condition.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs to facilitate community involvement.
- Observe and document client behavior, progress, and any significant changes in health status.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to provide comprehensive support.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism.
- Transport participants to various activities in the community.
- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities and autism is essential.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure the confidentiality of client information.
- Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional settings is advantageous.
- Proficient in communication both verbal and non-verbal.
- Proficient in patient observation skills.
- Ability to assist clients in their living environments while promoting independence.
- Skills in meal preparation that cater to dietary restrictions or preferences of clients.
- Understanding care principles to effectively support clients with cognitive impairments.
