What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Golf Professional position at Carmel Country Club?
Carmel Country Club is looking for high-energy, experienced Assistant Golf Professional. As an Assistant Golf Professional, you will play a key role in supporting the overall golf operation. Working closely with the Director of Golf and Head Professionals and other staff members, your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks related to member service, golf shop management, tournament coordination, player development, and more.
Member Service:
- Greet and assist members and guests, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
- Handle inquiries, tee time, and lesson reservations.
- Address and resolve concerns or issues promptly.
Golf Shop Management:
- Assist in managing pro shop inventory, including ordering and stocking merchandise.
- Maintain a clean and organized golf shop appearance.
- Process retail transactions.
Tournament and Event Coordination:
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing golf tournaments and events.
- Coordinate tee times, scorekeeping, and awards for tournaments.
- Provide on-course assistance during events.
Club Repair and Equipment Maintenance:
- Conduct basic club repair services for members and guests.
- Ensure rental equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
Rules and Regulations:
- Stay current with golf rules and regulations.
- Assist in enforcing course policies and rules during play.
Player Development:
- Promote and participate in junior golf programs, nurturing the next generation of Carmel golfers.
- Conduct individual and group golf lessons, tailoring instruction to accommodate players of varying skill levels.
- Provide constructive feedback on swing mechanics, putting, chipping, and overall game improvement.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all players, fostering a love for the game.
Administrative Tasks:
- Assist in administrative duties such as scheduling, record-keeping, and communication with members.
Qualifications:
- PGA Level 1 and above preferred.
- Strong knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven customer service experience.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and carrying golf equipment.
Professional Development:
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements.
- Pursue ongoing education and training opportunities.
Team members are required to work evenings, holidays and weekends on a consistent basis.
