Paralegal Responsibilities
- Preparing legal correspondence and other documents for attorneys.
- Organizing and maintaining documents.
- Summarizing documents and files.
- Filing pleadings with State and Federal Courts.
- Helping prepare for trial by organizing exhibits and assisting with other tasks as needed.
- 5 years of experience in civil litigation defense is essential.
- Experience should include: Assisting attorney(s) in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions; drafting legal documents such as subpoenas, discovery, and pleadings; assisting in case analysis meeting all applicable deadlines; e-filing with both State and Federal Courts; summarizing medical and billing records; summarizing depositions; and managing cases for assigned attorneys.
- Knowledge of Miss State Workers Compensation and Longshore Harbor Workers Compensation practice experience is a plus.
- Must have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a litigation team.
- Must have strong investigative skills.
- Must possess excellent organization skills, be detail-oriented, and be able to operate well under pressure with minimal supervision.
