LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE- Kansas Overland Park, Kansas
SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Licensed Practical Nurse I is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a Case Manager/Registered Nurse and performs various simple and specialized skilled services and /or personal care services as necessary to meet the client’s needs. The Licensed Practical Nurse I is responsible for observing clients, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care performed. Responsible for handling and serving clients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1. Is a graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program.
- 2. Has one year of nursing experience. Community/home health or medical/surgical experience is preferred.
- 3. Is currently licensed as a licensed practical nurse in the state of practice.
- 4. Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
- 5. Possesses and maintains good physical stamina and mental health. Has presented a pre- employment screening including a negative TB skin test and/or CXR and other tests as required by the Agency.
- 6. Has good oral and written communication skills, and is organized.
- 7. Computer literate with working knowledge of Windows/MS Office applications. Able to type at least 25 words per minute.
- 8. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order. May be required to show proof of insurance.
- 9. Is self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
- 10. Demonstrates tact, patience and good personal hygiene.
