JOB RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to Pharmacy Managers
DEFINITION OF POSITION
A Pharmacist is responsible for performance and/or supervision of various aspects of the medication use system including but not limited to: therapeutic recommendations, advocate for patient safety, preparation, distribution, monitoring, oversight of administration, and billing. This practitioner will be primarily based in the Emergency Department and may cross-cover other areas as needed. The pharmacist’s focus is on the quality of care through comprehensive medication management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional
Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
Licensed and registered as a Pharmacist by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy
Emergency and/or critical care experience is required
Residency training PGY1 and PGY2 are preferred.
Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Certification is preferred
One year experience as a pharmacist in an acute care is preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Basic computer skills including keyboard data entry and Windows-based software navigation
Basic office equipment skills including use of calculator, telephone, printer, & fax machine
