What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant II position at Cary Prosthodontics?
JOB SUMMARY:
The Registered Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the dentist and dental hygienist in the direct provision of primary care dental services to patients of Royal Oak Dental Group. The Dental Assistant is also responsible for sterilization, preparation and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies.
SCHEDULE:
4 days a week
Monday to Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assists the dentist in providing dental treatment
- Assist with alginate impressions
- Digital scanning
- Schedules patient appointments to accommodate potential obstacles
- Maintains dental instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Collects and records patient health histories
- Assists with patient management during dental procedures
- Completes instrument cleaning and sterilization and post-op sanitation of treatment rooms
- Prepares dental materials and equipment as needed for the scheduled treatment
- Completes dental charting
- Responsible for inventory supply and other ancillary duties
- Any other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:
HS Diploma or equivalent, required
Dental Assistant Program completed, with certificate required - MUST BE A DA II
EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years of Dental experience is highly preferred.
Experience in Prosthodontics, preferred.
X-ray certified, required.
CERIFICATE/LICENSE:
Dental Assistant Certificate is required - DA II required
Valid X-ray certificate
