Aggregate Heavy Equipment Operator

Casella Construction is seeking to hire an Aggregate Heavy Equipment Operator join our Aggregate Team in North Clarendon, VT. The Aggregate Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating equipment safely and effectively, maintaining equipment and quality output, and other duties assigned.

The ideal person in this role is a self-motivated, capable of general labor, mechanical support, and heavy equipment operating to maintain an aggregate plant. The Casella Construction aggregate team in North Clarendon, VT shifts starts at 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM generally. The Aggregate Heavy Equipment Operator assist with daily clean up and general plant maintenance. The candidate should have a strong work ethic, who is motivated, focused, able to work independently or as part to a team and takes pride in a job well done.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate heavy equipment- Haul Truck, Loader, Excavator.
• Help with daily maintenance on Aggregate plant.
• Communicate daily with supervisor.
• Perform all required daily documentation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year experience operating heavy equipment
• Knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
• Understanding of safety rules and ability to safely operate machinery.
• 8Hr MSHA Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of aggregate crushing equipment preferred but not required.

• Must be able to perform in an active job that often requires manual labor.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Able to lift 50lbs.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Understanding of maintenance and basic repairs associated with heavy equipment.
