What are the responsibilities and job description for the LEAD SLOT MECHANIC position at Casino Queen Marquette?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive to this position.)

  • Knowledge of and enforcement of all gaming laws and regulations which apply to the functions and duties of this position.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all slot machines and related equipment.
  • Safeguards all assigned areas.
  • Coordinates all slot moves and changes as directed.  Ensures all approvals are obtained and all notifications to required entities are made.
  • Enters all slot machine information into the slot system and periodically reviews for accuracy.
  • Ensures that all gaming devices are in proper working order.
  • Orders all parts, supplies and equipment as needed and manages inventory within budgetary constraints.
  • Supervises Slot Mechanics including training, scheduling, duties, time off requests and discipline.
  • Provide Slot Department information to Internal/IGB auditors for monthly and quarterly audits.
  • Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with customers and fellow employees.
  • Any and all duties as assigned by the Director of Slot Operations or a member of management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.  Must be able to perform physical aspects of the job, as noted in policies and procedures.
  • Able to work any shift including with short or no notice.
  • Electronic or mechanical background preferred.  Minimum of 10 years slot repair experience preferred (Slot, video machines, Redemption Kiosks and associated signage).   Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented with strong supervisory skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic Computer skills with strong working knowledge in Word and Excel.                 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Illinois Gaming License.         
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The cast member is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The cast member is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The cast member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the cast member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
