Salary Range for this position is $45,000. Salary Range is based on Experience and Education levels.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SPECIMEN PROCESSOR,

This position is responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment. The role will evaluate the needs of internal and external clients to provide high-quality customer service. Additionally, it will provide support as needed and defined by those to whom the position reports, ensuring compliance with the company's policies and applicable standard operating procedures. Responsibilities include triaging, prioritizing, and sorting specimens appropriately for accessioning and processing, reviewing specimen requisitions against data entry for accuracy, documenting and correcting errors, and escalating issues to the supervisor as necessary. The role also involves maintaining supply chain integrity for both internal operations and external customer needs, facilitating the tissue acquisition process, and engaging outside laboratories as required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Actively displays behaviors that supports the mission, vision, and values of Castle Biosciences.
• Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in the laboratory field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year lab accessioning experience preferred; previous experience in health care/lab or pharmaceutical, industry preferred.

• Mon-Fri from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM in our Pittsburgh, PA, @ Nova Place Lab location.
