Cellar Person

Shift: 4 x 10hr days, 2pm-12am with some flexibility. Two shifts are open for hire: Sun-Wed and Wed-Sat.

Wage: $19/hr with no/limited experience, moving to $20/hr once fully trained (includes $1/hr evening shift differential)

Purpose

Cellar Persons are responsible for maintaining beer production throughout fermentation, transfer, and clarification of beer in preparation for packaging.

Duties

· Perform daily fermentation pH/gravity checks

· CIP and sanitize fermenters and brite tanks

· Cellar work including dry-hopping, transferring, centrifuging, and carbonating beer

· Yeast handling including collection and storage of brewing yeast

· Record all necessary data

· Beer, chemical, and wastewater management

· Extensive brewery cleaning and sanitation

· Maintain accurate records of hops, clarifying agents, and transfer volumes

· Aid in receiving and storage of raw materials and supplies

· Operate a forklift when certified (will train)

· Perform QA/QC duties as assigned

· Adhere to correct PPE and all SOPs

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements

· 21 years of age or older

· Passionate about craft beer

· Strong communication skills; ability to speak and interact effectively with coworkers

· Professional presence; must conduct self in professional manner at all times as an ambassador for CDB

· Positive attitude, initiative, creativity and adaptability as CDB grows

· Self-motivated and able to take initiative without a lot of oversight

· Previous experience in a brewery or manufacturing environment strongly preferred

Physical Requirements

Lift /carry supplies in excess of 85 lbs and team lift up to 170 lbs

Able to stand for length of work shift, up to 10 hours

Position requires frequent crouching, moving heavy hoses, and working in hot, cold, and humid environments.

Education Requirements

· High School diploma or equivalent

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
