Job Overview

As an Optical Technician, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive experience for our patients, starting from greeting them upon arrival to ensuring they receive the highest level of care until they receive their prescriptions and pick out their frames.

Responsibilities
- Assist optometrists and ophthalmologists in conducting eye exams and vision tests
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical history and vital signs
- Perform diagnostic tests including visual acuity, lensometry, and color vision testing
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care, insertion, and removal of contact lenses
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories
- Handle optical equipment with care and ensure cleanliness of examination rooms
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Outgoing person with strong sales experience
- Pleasing personality and have a strong ability to do multitasking
- Optical experience is a plus but not necessary
Job tasks and Responsibilities:
- Excellent phone etiquette; answer phone calls in a prompt and courteous manner and greet all patients coming into the office.
- Conducting initial assessment of a patient, including listening to their concerns, obtaining a relevant medical history, and measuring intraocular pressures, refraction, visual acuities, and more.
- Perform work accurately and thoroughly, sell glasses and contact lenses.
- Scheduling appointments and verifying insurance.
- Prior experience in retail sales or customer service is advantageous

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
