We are currently seeking highly professional, experienced Medical Reception / Patient Advocates to join our team to help us provide a welcoming, compassionate environment where patients feel at ease and from the moment they step into our office.
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced patient advocates to serve as front office specialists for our new practice. The patient advocates create a positive experience for patients, guests, and coworkers with a warm, welcoming and professional demeanor.
Minimum 2 years previous medical office experience required.
The receptionist works efficiently to obtain, verify, and enter patient demographic information and maintains accurate and updated chart data. Providing excellent customer service and having multitasking skills are required. Attention to detail and a hardworking, ‘can-do’ attitude is a must. Previous experience in a hospital or medical office setting required. Must have the ability to deal with a broad range of personalities and situations. Strong health insurance knowledge and medical terminology required. Previous working experience with ModMed EMA is a bonus, but not required.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Scheduling Appointments; within established guidelines and schedule templates
- Greets patients and guests when they arrive; efficiently check-in/out patients
- Verifies and updates accurate demographic and insurance information
- Confirms and maintains patient referrals, as required
- Collect copays/coinsurance estimated pre-surgery and outstanding balances at time of service
- Receives, answers, and responds to telephone calls regarding appointment, general questions and/or requests
- Answers and routes incoming telephone calls to providers & clinical staff
- Sorts incoming faxes, pulls appropriate charts/EHR and routes accordingly
- Faxes, refill authorizations, referral, and result information
- Maintains patient confidentiality, and adhering to the HIPAA privacy practices for protected health information
Approximate Hours are Monday – Thursday 7:45AM to 5PM; Friday clinics will be a ½ day. No Call, Weekend or Holiday hours. Compensation depends on experience
