Shipping and Receiving Associate

Overview
The Shipping Associate is responsible for the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of raw materials and finished goods.

This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, as well as a combination of hands-on and fast-paced food manufacturing expertise.

Description-

Maintaining of receiving, shipping, warehousing, and distribution operations

Manages GMPs & food safety culture for the department.

Good knowledge of product codes and scanning procedures

Controlling of inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling in ERP system

Ensuring that quality, delivery and labor objectives are met.

Work with QA to help control/maintain damage goods with tag and hold procedure.

Assurance of proper stock rotation (FIFO)

Strategic planning for the most efficient product flow

Works closely with company/department managers and supervisors.

A willingness to work in other departments for company cohesion is a must.

Education / Training

High school equivalent or higher preferred but not required.

Basic Reading, Writing and Math skills.

2 years or more operating industrial equipment

Strong knowledge of Handheld scanner system (RF guns)

Related Experience/Requirements

Minimum of 3 years in food, managing warehouse related functions. Meat industry a plus.

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills.

Strong time management and planning skills.

Knowledge of Food Safety Standards (GMPs, HACCP, SQF, etc.)

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Good planning and priority setting skills.

Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Ability to work in cold production environments.

May be required to work long hours and weekends.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Job requires workers to lift up to 80 lbs. must be able to: step, climb, balance, squat, kneel, bend and reach above shoulders as needed.
