Salary: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is currently seeking a Sr. Network Engineer, who will provide technical expertise, strategic and tactical planning, design, engineering, and documentation of the Agency’s core network infrastructure including the implementation and design of hardware, software, and security requirements. The hybrid work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Configures and manages network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, CSU/DSUs, telecommunications, and wireless access points and controllers.
• Directs the configuration and management of network monitoring devices/services for Agencywide network management.
• Provides advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problems.
• Manages complex network related projects; performs the analysis of proposed solutions/ designs / plans.
• Collaborates with Technical Systems Architect to evaluate, configure, and implement Agency network, Internet, and electronic communication security solutions and policies.
• Develops and maintains system documentation; implements, reviews and revises documentation as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Education & Experience Requirements

• B.S. degree in Computer Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5 years of experience in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting wide area network infrastructure devices, including firewalls, routers switches, wireless access points, and controllers and monitoring applications.
• Strong network fundamentals knowledge, VLANs, IP Addressing/Subnetting; Detailed packet level knowledge of network traffic.
• Must be knowledgeable of client/server and host-based strategies, database design and administration network topologies, design, and management, structured systems analysis and design and application testing procedures.
• Hands-on design and implementation experience with SAN, server, networking, telephony, unified communications, virtualization, Microsoft Exchange and end user computing including end point device management (PCs, tablets, smartphones, and other mobile devices), and helpdesk solutions.
  
  

Required Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrated skills with Aruba, Airwave, ClearPass, Cisco, or other networking/security technologies.
• Excellent customer-facing skills including consensus building, service skills, including verbal and written communication at all levels of the organization.
• Strong technical leadership and organizational skills with the proven ability to multitask and prioritize projects and operational tasks in an interrupt driven environment.
• Effective conflict resolution and teamwork skills.
  
  

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Able to work a scheduled shift including evening, overnight, weekend shifts/hours and rotating on call coverage.
• Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
