What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internship - Mental Health Therapist position at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee?
Catholic Charities Counseling Services is a state certified outpatient behavioral health clinic providing accessible, culturally competent, high quality mental health services to individuals, families, children, and couples of all faiths and backgrounds. We recognize the added challenges of people living in poverty and accept patients who do not have any means to pay, as well as those with limited resources.
Our Mental Health Internship Program’s aim is to complement a student’s coursework with an in-person clinical experience. The internship program pairs a student with both a clinical supervisor and clinical team to support them in providing mental health services to the local community.
Mental Health Interns will gain experience, confidence, and professional growth by managing their case load. Interns will provide in-office psychotherapy and counseling services to a diverse range of clients with a wide variety of diagnoses, meeting them where they are at to provide the best level of support. Our interns support their clients under the supervision and support of our experienced therapists. Interns will also have the opportunity to regularly collaborate with other programs within the agency to provide support to achieve both client and program goals.

Who Should Apply?
- Students who are enrolled in in a master’s degree program in social work or counseling field.
- Individuals who have a passion for helping the less fortunate and those most in need.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is a plus, but not required.
Internship Commitments
- 10 to 20 hours per week during regular office hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
- At least two consecutive school semesters or one year
