The outpatient Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluation and therapeutic intervention for persons with illnesses or injuries, which impede independent functioning of mobility, activities of daily living, cognitive thinking, and/or vocation.

Responsibilities:

• Responds to physician’s treatment orders/ prescriptions in a timely fashion.
• Performs a thorough patient evaluation and assesses the needs of the patient.
• Develops an appropriate and individualized plan of care for each patient and communicates with pt. and family.
• Establishes realistic short and long term goals in conjunction with the patient. Goals are measurable.
• Progresses patients appropriately to achieve the highest potential level of function by discharge.

 Requirements:

 Education: 

• Minimum Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy. 
• New York State license and registration or valid temporary license.
• BLS Certification

Skills: 

• Occupational therapist must be able to evaluate and provide treatment interventions to patients with diagnoses ranging from simple orthopedic conditions to more complex neurological conditions. 
• Must be able to work in a fast paced department. 
• Positions requires ability to accurately and completely document in a timely manner utilizing the electronic medical record system EPIC.  
• Must have excellent communication and customer service skills

Experience: 

• Experience in an outpatient setting strongly preferred but not required.

The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
