What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Therapist position at Catholic Health?
DUTIES: Develops standards of care which reflect current theoretical knowledge in therapeutic recreation practice. Able to develop and implement well rounded programs that addresses and meet the needs of varying functional levels within the geriatric population. Performs therapeutic recreation assessments on geriatric short term patients and long term residents. Documents assessment, care plan, interventional approaches and evaluations on appropriate medical records. MDS knowledge preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma graduate or GED equivalency. Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy or related field required. Geriatric experience preferred. Will consider Registered Creative Arts Therapist with LTC experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: CTRS certification preferred. Will consider seasoned recreation leader who must attain CTRS certification within one year of appointment.
