Ambulatory & Urgent Care at Centereach
Catholic Health is opening a new Ambulatory & Urgent Care location in Centereach. The multispecialty practice is located at 2112 Middle Country Road and is set to open in July 2023. This new multispecialty location will offer an array of primary and specialty care, as well as urgent care services for the Centereach community and surrounding areas.
Position Summary:
The Security Officer is responsible for patrolling the site and the grounds. He/she monitors lighting, illegal parking and reviews conditions of the parking fields, curbing, and sidewalks. He/she is assigned to fixed posts at the Main Entrance. He/she also performs other related duties and tasks as assigned or required. He/she monitors visitors at the site. He/she also writes incident reports as required. He/she also ensures the safety of all staff, visitors, and patients at the site. He/she enforces all the security regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides a visible deterrence to crime and prohibited activities by patrolling the buildings and grounds of the Hospital.
- Responds quickly and effectively to emergent and non-emergent situations.
- Greet patients and visitors and ensures only authorized personnel are entering the site.
- Escorts visitors, patients and personnel to and from parking areas.
- Assists motorists who become stranded at the site.
- Maintains current information in lost and found logs.
- Serves as a member of the Fire Response Team and responds to Code Red.
- Investigates incidents reported by site personnel, visitors, physicians or patients. Reports all incidents, verbally or through general incident form, by the end of shift.
- Writes accurate, clear and legible incident reports and documents investigatory steps and results.
- Responds to emergency calls for assistance to control disorderly conduct or combative patients.
- Patrols building and grounds; inspects doors, windows and locks to determine level of security.
- Patrols parking areas to detect any incidents.
- Inspects outgoing parcels as necessary to prevent theft of CH property.
- Reports all safety and fire hazards observed on routine patrols and inspections.
- Assists and gives courteous responses to any inquiries made by patients, visitors or personnel.
- Monitors the Hospital using electronic security equipment (CCTV’s, alarms, etc.)
- Enforces all CH policies and procedures as assigned by Administration and Director of Security.
- Assist patient with wheelchair when needed.
Requirements:
- HS. Diploma – College degree preferred
- NYS Security Guard License
- a clean NYS driver's license
- Prior Law Enforcement/Security/Fire Safety Training preferred
