Major Objective: To process donations for the thrift store
Position reports to: Director of Catholic Social Services & Thrift Store Manager
Position Status: Non-exempt/Part-time status
Hours of Employment: Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Qualifications:
Preferred candidate must:
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Possess prior retail or thrift store experience
- Have excellent communication skills
- Follow directions and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
- Be capable of lifting up to 40 lbs on a continuous basis
- Be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Navigate stairs as necessary
- Have a valid Alabama ID
- Successfully complete mandatory Archdiocesan Child Protection Training and background check
Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and price donations
- Organize merchandise on shelves and/or racks with good attention to detail
- Rotate and assist with inventory control
- Greet and assist customers with purchases when working in the retail area
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers and coworkers
- Handle cash and card transactions, make change, and keep accurate records
- Maintain a clean, safe and pleasant store environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Store Manager
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 28 per week
