Pathology Department Lab Assistant - Full-Time

A Pathology Department Lab Assistant in the anatomical pathology department provides clerical and non-technical support. Clerical duties include test requisitioning, document management, and coordination of pathology send outs, both incoming and outgoing. Non-technical support duties include maintaining supply inventory, communication with physician offices and other pathology departments and maintaining and organizing work areas. This individual may also participate in postmortem examinations.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Education- High school diploma required. Some college or science courses preferred.
- Experience - 1 year prior laboratory experience and prior knowledge of medical procedures and terminology preferred.
- Licensure - None.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Problem solving ability and attention to detail is preferred
- Good written and oral communication skills preferred. Requires ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely and adjust to changes in work volumes.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for long periods of time; requires manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination. Repetitive use of hands. Able to perform light lifting, up to 40 pounds.

- Onsite at 101 Dates Dr, Ithaca, NY 14850
- Shift: Full-Time - Days
- 0%-5% Travel can be expected in this role
Pay Range Disclosure:
- Standard Rate of $18.50 to $24.00 per hour plus benefits
