The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive outreach athletic training services at a local high school and provide athletic training support to the staff and clients.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training
2. Current NATA BOC Certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Master’s Degree in related field
2. Certification in strength and conditioning or related area.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Maintain standard athletic health care policy and procedure manual. To be reviewed annually with designated team physician.
2. Provide athletic training services for all home athletic events and away football games. Away Varsity football contests will supersede conflicts.
3. Provide routine athletic training room hours for injury evaluation and basic treatments during all sports seasons.
4. Provide routine athletic training room hours during summer open 3 week practice period.
Serve as liaison between physicians, specialists, the school, athletes and their parents.
5. Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments and communication related to care of athletes at the school.
6. Develop and maintain a budget for the athletic training program. Work with athletic director to ensure adequate supplies are available and athletic training facilities are maintained.
7. Provide the coaches and athletic director with information regarding the medical eligibility of injured athletes.
8. Participate in annual pre-participation physicals at the school.
9. Participate in tournament and special athletic events hosted by the school.
10. Provide support and assistance to performance and fitness coaches at hospital based fitness facility.
11. Provide initial client screening and testing at hospital based fitness facility.
12. Provide client services to strength of employee at hospital based fitness facility.
13. Assist the director as requested at hospital based fitness facility.
14. Perform duties relevant to the position as assigned.
