We provide friendly, compassionate, cutting-edge medicine for not only cats and dogs, but also exotic animals like ferrets, rabbits, rodents, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Our practice emphasizes preventative medicine, diagnostics, and exemplary customer service. We have digital general and dental radiology, and a full in-house lab all integrated into practice management software. Our practice has developed a loyal and informed client base capable of providing for their pets. We maintain a healthy work life balance and are closed on weekends. Job Description: The veterinary receptionist's primary duty is interacting with clients and coordinating communication between doctors, veterinary technicians/assistants, and the clients. The receptionist needs to be accurate and cheerful and maintain a smooth, well-planned, and orderly flow of clients and patients. This position requires a practical knowledge of hospital organization and services, and responsibilities include scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, setting up new clients and patients, preparation and maintenance of medical records, filling some prescriptions, over-the-counter sales, mailings, computer operation, financial transactions, filing, and front office and reception area maintenance. Receptionists will assume the responsibility for acquiring the medical and legal information necessary for the performance of their duties.

Receptionists must possess good critical thinking and problem solving skills, compassion, a positive attitude, follow-through and excellent communication and teamwork skills. Multitasking and accepting constructive criticism is essential. Punctuality is expected. This job description does not necessarily cover every task or duty that might be assigned. There may be additional responsibilities assigned as necessary.

Qualifications: Previous receptionist and professional animal care experience preferred. The candidate should have a a strong customer-service background and an interest in pet care, with comfort and willingness to learn about and handle exotic pets. Must be comfortable using computers. Must be able to work until 8 pm two nights per week. The candidate must be able to work 35-40 hours per week. Will be required to take a drug test prior to hiring.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
