Certified Peer Recovery Specialist - Claiborne County

Cedar Recovery is an ASAM Level 1 and 2.1 Outpatient Addiction Treatment company based in Mount Juliet, TN. Cedar has fourteen (14) physical locations throughout Tennessee that treat opioid and other substance use disorders. The approach to Cedar’s treatment includes the combination of medical, counseling, therapy, and peer recovery support to deliver an integrated model of care.

Cedar is seeking to hire a full-time Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (CPRS) in Claiborne County, TN.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide recovery education and support to Cedar Recovery’s patients at all phases of treatment

• Engage with prospective and active clients through motivational interviewing tactics and coordinate care with Cedar’s medical providers

• Facilitate release and recovery planning activities with patients

• Identify and coordinate community resources for patients (housing, food, work, education, relationships, etc.)

• Coordinate care with internal and external medical and treatment providers with whom patients will or are likely to engage

• Act as a community liaison for Cedar to develop strong relationships and promote the reputation of Cedar
• Facilitate an intake process with the client and Cedar’s medical providers

• Link individuals to appropriate community-based groups and resources upon release

• Remain connected by phone or email to Cedar’s patients for purposes of ensuring their on-going success and engagement in their respective program

• Lead individual or group peer recovery sessions as directed by the peer’s supervisor

Requiring:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

• Certified as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist by the TN Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services

• A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated recovery from a substance use disorder

• Ability to pass a drug screen

• Excellent verbal and relationship building skills
