What are the responsibilities and job description for the QUALITY TECHNICIAN LEVEL I position at Celltron Inc.?
The Quality Technician (QA Tech.) will have the responsibility to test, inspect and facilitate raw material receiving and in-process inspection. The QA Tech will monitor the casting and element production and test processes with the objective of compliance to written procedures and scrap reduction. The QA Tech. will assist in the development of statistical analyses and trending in order to maintain the Quality System and the reliability and continuous improvement of Celltron products processes. It shall be the job of the QA Tech to interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, or schematic diagrams and confer with production, management or engineering staff to define and update the applicable quality and reliability standards or documents.

Responsible for receiving and tracking customer returns which includes:
- Initial inspection of returned part and associated paperwork, completing Part Return Receiving Report (Form 1014), Receiver for short, scanning all paperwork received from customer, delivering original Receiver and customer paperwork to Contracts. Upload receiver to DocuShare. Enter RMA information into the Return Status Log. Inspect part and complete the part information at the top of the form and the Receiving Inspection Evaluation section of the Customer Returned Part (CRP) Form 680, complete a material withhold tag and log part into bonded storage cage.
- When notification is received from Contracts that the order number and PO has been assigned, update the CRP form 680 with the information provided, and upload it to DocuShare, routing it to the appropriate Team Leader.
- Once the paperwork has been completed and green paper issued, update the Return Status Log with the status “Green Paper Issued” and deliver the green paper and the part to the Team Leader for disposition.
- When the part is shipped, or scrapped, update the Return Status Log with the status “Shipped”.
- Every step of the paperwork is entered in the Return Status Log and also the collection is moved through DocuShare until the product is shipped and the collection is finally moved to the “Completed RMA” collection, where it stays.
Responsible for maintaining Material Reject Report (MRR) log which includes:- Entering the data into the SCAR and MRR log, distributing copies to Lead Stockroom clerk, appropriate Team Leader and Purchasing Agent and placing part in bonded storage cage.
- When completed MRR form is received, update the SCAR & MRR LOG with the closing information and file the signed and completed MRR form.
Ensure appropriate accountability of all items contained in the bonded storage cage, which contains both customer returns and Material Rejects.
Responsibility of the bonded storage includes maintaining both the RMA and MRR logs. Random log checks are performed to validate accuracy.
Responsible for issuing Corrective Action Numbers (CAN), starting initial paperwork, scanning in documentation, closing corrective actions when completed, and performing a 30-day follow-up if necessary.
Responsible for posting Team Score Cards weekly.
Responsible for creating and posting monthly Team Defect Reports, using data gathered from the Work Order Tracking System.
Support Engineering with routine equipment inspections and process validations.
Support the internal/supplier auditing function to ISO Quality System requirements.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality System Standard.
Trained in IPC/WHMA-A-620(B), ESD and Solder.
Responsible for transcribing all Test Operator Data, which is received daily, and recording it into a weekly Excel spreadsheet.
Inspect and test products on an as needed basis.
Perform first article inspections using Visual IPI software as needed.
Complete other duties and assignments as requested or assigned.
A Quality Tech must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
