Job Title : Assistant Team Leader, ISU

Job Summary :

CASES is currently seeking an Assistant Team Leader, ISU to join the Intensive Services Unit (ISU) within Pretrial Services.

The Assistant Team Leader, ISU functions as supervisory support to the Team Leader handling specific responsibilities that are designated by the Team Leader.

In their role the Assistant Team Leader, ISU will provide direct oversight and supervision to the Case Coordinators and Peer Mentor staff.

The Intensive Services Unit (ISU) initiative will implement innovative approaches to working with individuals who have been placed in the Supervised Release Program and experience more extensive needs and challenges that may impact on daily functioning and overall program engagement.

The ideal candidate for this position will work well as part of a coordinated clinical team actively assisting all team members.

The focus group of program participants manage challenges in mental health, substance use, employment, and medical health.

The team promotes proactive, sustained engagement in the community as a catalyst to individual transformation by bridging participants into community partners and resources eager to support our participants in realizing their greatest potential.

Salary : The salary for the Assistant Team Leader, ISU role is $75,000 per year.

Shift Hours : The Assistant Team Leader, ISU is full-time working Monday through Friday from 9 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm.

What you will be doing :

• Will support the overall clinical and administrative operations of the community supervision, case management, peer support, health, and rehabilitation services.
• Will conduct in-person field-based services in the community with team members to support staff in their work with participants with elevated risks and needs.
• Manage a specialized caseload of program participants who present with significant behavioral health needs, co-morbid conditions and / or complex presentations requiring collaboration with various partner providers.
• The Assistant Team Leader will assist the Team Leader with facilitating regularly occurring team meetings and morning huddles to direct clear guidance on daily program operations, review cases collaboratively and inspire ongoing discussion on emerging participant trends.
• Assess participant’s; immediate needs, legal circumstances, substance use, mental health, trauma, psychosocial, vocational, educational, and housing needs to complete assessments and develop service plans.
• Conduct outreach to families and significant others to gather collateral information for service planning.
• Take leadership in management of high risk and complex care cases, including conducting direct work in the community and with other members of the team as needed to manage risk.

What we are looking for :

• Master’s degree in relevant clinical discipline such as Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology with 2-4 years Supervisory experience.
• At least two years of experience working in human services with individuals with serious mental illness and those with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.
• Experience understanding various evidence-based models and theories pertaining to psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, serious mental illness and recovery.
• Experience understanding family systems based on diversity of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
• Highly organized and self-motivated.
• Must be able to navigate 5 boroughs of NYC and perform field work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift 5-10lbs.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods.
