CAL’s multidisciplinary programs address the needs of children experiencing poverty by using the arts to promote academic, social-emotional, and cognitive development, ultimately improving the lives of youth facing economic hardship. Compensation: $17–$20 per hour, commensurate with experience | Hours: Up to 20 hours per week (hours may vary) Classification: Non-exempt, seasonal, part-time | Reports To: Chief Operating Officer | Department: Community Programs  Start Date: Earliest Availability | Current Program Locations: Cleveland & Cleveland Heights, Ohio  

 

Position Summary 


The Seasonal Part-Time Program Support Assistant supports the successful implementation of Center for Arts-Inspired Learning (CAL) community-based youth programs. This role provides on-site program support, serves as a point of contact for teaching artists and participants, assists with logistics and documentation, and helps ensure safe, welcoming, and well-managed learning environments for youth. 

 

Core Responsibilities 


  • Support the implementation of CAL community-based youth programs 
  • Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and fair treatment in all interactions 
  • Assist with program data collection, attendance tracking, and basic documentation 
  • Serve as a point of contact for teaching artists, participants, and families during program hours 
  • Be present on-site during programming to provide oversight and represent CAL  
  • Transport program supplies to and from CAL locations as needed  
  • Assist with set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of program spaces 
  • Support adherence to child safety policies 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 

 

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Attributes 


  • High school diploma or GED required 
  • Ability to work effectively with children and youth in community or educational settings 
  • Ability to follow established procedures and safety protocols 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Adjust communication styles quickly to connect with students, artists, and families. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take direction 
  • Basic proficiency with email, shared documents, and data entry tools 
  • Dependable and punctual, with availability during afternoons, evenings, or weekends as needed 

 

Preferred Qualifications 


  • Experience supporting arts-based, education, or enrichment programming 
  • Prior experience in a youth-serving or school-based organization 
  • First Aid/CPR Training  

 

 

Compliance & Additional Requirements 


  • Successful completion of Ohio BCI/FBI background checks required 
  • Compliance with child safety policies 
  • Reliable transportation; mileage reimbursed per CAL policy 
  • Ability to lift up to approximately 25 lbs., with reasonable accommodation available
