DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

Position Overview: The Director of Development participates in the certain areas of organizational leadership, seeking to represent the mission and values of CCG in every way. They are responsible for overseeing all fundraising activities of the organization, including assisting with the macro perspective of fundraising trends that influence our strategies and execution. In collaboration with key leaders, the Director of Development designs an annual strategy to reach key fundraising goals, then executes that strategy. They track all fundraising activity, manages donor relationships (either personally or through assignment), donor fulfillment, annual fundraising campaigns and appeals, and distribution of those donations for the intended purposes. They contribute strategically to all capital campaign activities, overseeing a team that ensures major campaign targets are reached. The Director of Development may have influence in both internal and external relationships including but not limited alumni, camper parents, volunteers, etc.

Key Duties

 • Resource Development

• Recruit, lead and manage the resource development team into a unified group that influences the organization in positive ways
• Design and implement annual fundraising strategies that effectively reach all donation goals and then execute that strategy
• Initiate new fundraising approaches that creatively engage donors and increase that donor population annually
• Track monthly donations including accurate donation records, database management, and fundraising reports
• Oversee the distribution of donations in line with donor preferences
• Construct an annual budget and then manage that budget within acceptable financial limits, including all expenses and staffing of the department

• Education/Proven Experience

• Experience in donor development or some related work experience that contributes to fundraising effectiveness (e.g., Sales)
• Ongoing education or maintenance of fundraising certifications that build further credibility and expertise

• Physical Demands and Work Environment     

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, grasp, push, pull, carry or otherwise manipulate objects. 
• Ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination. 
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.   
• This position works mainly indoors in normal office environment majority of the time. However, periods of two to four hours standing outside during summer months are also expected.

Compensation 

This position is in the Grade 3 – Directors.  This salary band starts at approximately $60,000 annually and comes with T Bar M Camps & Retreats’ competitive insurance and benefits package that accompanies this position.

(CCG) is a 501(c)3 public charity, headquartered in New Braunfels, Texas.  CCG operates youth and family camps and retreats in New Braunfels and at Lake Travis near Austin under the trade name T Bar M Camps & Retreats. T Bar M is a Christ-centered, year-round camp, retreat and guest group ministry. All employees are required to be in alignment with CCG’s Core Identity (Mission, Vision, Values) and the Belief Statement. CCG is governed by its Board of Trustees, to whom the President reports.
