Background
Center for Human Development (CHD) is a mission-driven nonprofit, in Contra Costa County, dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through inclusive, evidence-based programming. We are embarking on a transformative project to enhance our data capacity and program impact with a customized Salesforce-based Management Information System (MIS).
Project Summary
CHD seeks an experienced Management Information System Specialist to lead the design and implementation of a Salesforce-based MIS that centralizes data across our agency programs. the system will help us better track strategic plan implementation, monitor service delivery evaluate outputs and outcomes, workplan objectives/deliverables, and enhance accountability to our stakeholders.
This is a grant-funded project with an approximate 7-month timeline (August 2025 - February 2026), longer if needed. The consultant will guide the project from needs assessment through development, training, launch, and post-development support.
What you will do
- Lead the full Salesforce implementation lifecycle, including planning, design, configuration, testing, and go-live.
- Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment with CHD staff to define requirements and workflows.
- Develop custom Salesforce components to track strategic goals, client demographics, service delivery, billing, referral pathways, and client feedback.
- Design and build dashboards and reports that provide real-time insights for internal decision-making and external reporting.
- Migrate legacy data and integrate third-party tools as needed (e.g., surveys, referral platforms, and database data).
- Train CHD staff in system use, provide documentation, and ensure adoption across teams.
- Support continuous improvement, monitor performance, and offer initial post-launch enhancements.
What you bring
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in MIS or a similar role for nonprofits or mission-driven organizations.
- Expertise in Salesforce, and Outcome Management tools.
- Strong skills in data modeling, system configuration, and custom dashboard/report development.
- Experience with data migration and third-party integrations (survey tools, referral platforms).
- Ability to lead staff training and support user adoption.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Commitment to CHD's mission and values of equity, community, and impact.
Compensation Range
Up to $90/hour, based upon experience and projected timeline. This is a contract position funded through a grant. Necessary licenses and tools will be provided or reimbursed.
Nice to have
- Salesforce certificates (e.g., Administrator, Nonprofit Cloud Consultant)
- Familiarity with TechSoup, Salesforce Power of Us Program, and NTEN resources.
- Experience working with diverse client data, community-based services, or social impact metrics.
