What are the responsibilities and job description for the X-ray Tech Position: Surgical/ Interventional Pain Management position at Center for Specialty Surgery?

Center for Specialty Surgery (CSS) is looking for an x-ray tech that will work in the OR and pain management rooms working with Fluoroscopy (30 Hours/week). Must be self-directed to perform intraoperative and/ or pain management radiographic procedures, as requested by a licensed physician.

Exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, applying x-ray energy, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.

Job Duties Include:

· Displays flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness and accountability when dealing with patients and their families.

· Creates an environment of safe delivery of patient care and functions with a constant awareness of safety issues.

· Practices aseptic technique, isolation and infection control procedures and prevents cross contamination. Follows Universal Precautions.

· Demonstrates knowledge of Radiation Safety, Material Safety Data Sheet and Fire/Safety policies and procedures.

· Uses pre-op/pre procedure verification check list, site marked with the physician’s initials (physician performing procedure) and using “Time Out”.

· Demonstrates competence with specific equipment used on all diagnostic and interventional procedures performed. Assists the supervising physician in capturing the best projections to delineate the anatomy.

· Demonstrates competency in providing monitoring equipment used during exams.

· Assists in preparing the room, trays and patient according to physician preference following Universal Protocol in Interventional Radiology for surgical, pain management and regenerative medicine procedures.

· Help to maintains communication with patient during procedure when appropriate.

· Willing to help in other areas where needed in the OR.

Other related duties as assigned.

Education

Required: Graduate of accredited Imaging Program

Preferred: Associates degree

Experience: Preferred: 1-3 years

Certifications: Required: ARRT or registry eligible; must have ARRT; BLS

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Per diem

Pay: $37.00 - $40.00 per hour
