CENTERS, LLC is a professional management firm specializing in facility, operation, and program management for higher education. CENTERS' management approach is customized for each client yet retains our uniform quality. Our firm unites site staff with a centralized administrative team, each contributing to the firm's goals and client needs. The CENTERS team is innovative, entrepreneurial, trail-blazing, and ambitious for both CENTERS and our clients. Today, CENTERS provides management services for 14 clients. The part-time service technician is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations and management of the Jax State Recreation & Fitness Center. This position will serve as the main custodial support staff while on shift. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity and upkeep of the facility and equipment.

Responsibilities

Facility Management:

  • Responsible for assisting with the general maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of the building and property to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and upkeep of the facilities, including but not limited to the duties listed below:
    • Cleaning building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
    • Perform preventative maintenance on fitness and facility equipment.
    • Complete minor maintenance projects.
    • Gathering and emptying trash
    • Servicing, cleaning, and restocking supplies in restrooms and shower rooms
    • Cleaning windows, glass, mirrors, etc.
    • Carrying out weekly/monthly heavy cleaning tasks and special projects
    • Moving furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or with a hand truck
    • Setting up, arranging, and moving tables, chairs, decorations, etc., to prepare for meetings and events.
    • Following cleaning procedures/specifications outlined by OSHA for the use of chemicalcleaners and power equipment.
    • Operate custodial equipment, including, scrubbers, vacuums, sweepers, and basic handtools.
    • Assisting with the inspection of facilities daily to identify any maintenance issues, damages, non-routine cleaning needs, or potential concerns/issues/problems.
    • Ensures the facility is secure at all times.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma with some college or vocational schooling a plus
  • General mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with safe operation of hand tools.
  • Willingness and ability to take direction.
  • High level of organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail while striving to perform high quality workmanship
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
  • Some computer literacy and ability to communicate via email.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude a must 
  • Position will be based in Jacksonville,Al with less than 30 minute emergency response time to the facility expected.
  • Strong work ethic with excellent attendance history

  • Ability to work both independently as well as with a team
  • Ability to interact and successfully manage within all levels of the organization.

Technical Competencies

  • Reliable transportation                          

Physical Demands

  • Standing or walking for over 50% of the work day
  • Ability to lift 45lbs or more on a regular basis
  • 4-6 hours of continuous standing and walking
  • Repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement
  • Operation of various hand and power tools
  • Operation of equipment such as a scissors lift.
  • Bending, stooping
  • Eye-hand coordination
  • Hearing and talking
  • Extended periods of reading fine print
