Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £28,325 and £33,231 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

About The Role

We are currently seeking an Advice and Admissions Team Leader to join our Customer Services department at The Bedford College Group.

As an Advice and Admissions Team Leader, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Team Leadership & Service Excellence – Lead and manage a team of advisers to deliver high-quality front-of-house, admissions, and IAG services, ensuring professionalism, performance against KPIs, and compliance with policies and GDPR.
  • Admissions Management – Oversee the end-to-end admissions process, from application review to enrolment, ensuring accuracy, policy adherence, and proactive engagement to maximise student conversion and retention.
  • Information, Advice & Guidance Delivery – Provide accurate, impartial advice on courses and services across multiple channels, support applicants through their journey, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of offerings and support systems.
  • Customer Experience & Data Integrity – Ensure a welcoming and efficient customer experience, maintain accurate records in CRM systems, resolve queries effectively, and contribute to continuous improvement through feedback and reporting.
  • Collaboration & Events Participation – Work closely with internal departments and external agencies, support recruitment events, and contribute to the wider goals of the Marketing, Communications & Student Recruitment Directorate.

About You

  • Education & Qualifications – Holds Level 3 education (e.g., A-Levels), GCSEs in English and Maths (A–C), ongoing professional development, and either possesses or is willing to obtain a Level 4 IAG qualification.
  • Experience & Impact – Proven success in delivering services that positively affect student outcomes and customer targets, with experience in fast-paced, customer-facing environments and a strong track record of high performance.
  • Knowledge & Awareness – Skilled in handling client confidentiality and data protection, promoting equality and diversity, and working effectively with diverse groups while demonstrating empathy and understanding of customer needs.
  • Communication & Technical Skills – Excellent grammar and interpersonal communication across all channels, highly IT literate with data handling capabilities, and able to manage resources and collaborate effectively under pressure.
  • Leadership & Professionalism – Motivated and confident team leader with the ability to inspire others, maintain professional standards, travel across campuses, work flexibly, and uphold safeguarding responsibilities.
