What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiation Oncology Nurse position at Central Care Cancer Center?
Central Care Cancer Center is hiring for an individual to join our oncology team in Bolivar, MO. Our radiation team is looking for a full time nurse to assist with rooming radiation therapy patients and providing nursing care to cancer patients who are receiving radiation treatment. This position will work closely with the radiation staff and radiation oncologist.
Essential Functions
- Monitors and records vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse rate
- Gives patients medications as directed by the physician
- Assist Physician during follow-ups and new consults
- Provides special care to the skin of patients before and after radiation treatments
- Organizes and carries out a treatment plan for patients’ care
- Completes nursing progress notes
- Charts all patient transactions, phone calls, prescription refills etc.
- Serves as intermediary for communication between patient and family as well as between patient and physician
- Instructs the patient and family on in home care
