CCC’s is seeking Nurse for the Letty Owings Center!
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am to 5:00pm
At Letty Owings, mothers are treated for drug addiction and alcoholism. They also begin learning essential life skills such as budgeting, meal planning and cooking, communication and most importantly, parenting – things as simple as how often a child needs to eat, sleep and bathe. Surrounded by role models and others who are succeeding in their recovery, the women see what life can be. The Letty Owings Center helps give them the tools they need to get there.
The LOC nurse will serve as a liaison between LOC and the clients’ community medical providers to better assure appropriate coordination, follow-up care and medication safety. The nurse will assist with triage and education to support clients in managing minor health issues in order to reduce avoidable emergency room visits. The nurse will assist with health education to support wellness initiatives related to exercise, nutrition and tobacco cessation.
Duties will include:
- Work closely with LOC staff ensuring integrated patient care.
- Review client medication lists and follow-up with medical providers as needed.
- Screen/triage medical concerns presented by clients and their children.
- Assist with coordination of referrals and follow-up recommendations for medical care.
- Educate clients on basic health issues, including when to see a medical provider and when to seek emergency services.
- Support clinical team in integrating wellness goals into the client service plan through direct service to clients, as well as consultation/training with staff.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited two, three or four year course of training for nurses.
- Current Oregon RN license.
- Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA
- Current CPR certification
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check. This includes clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit.
