June 17th to July 25th (no school for the holiday on 6/19 and 7/4)
Monday to Thursday
Description
The Director is responsible for:
- Hiring and supervising staff
- Determining the summer school population (with middle school guidance and middle school principals)
- Determining necessary courses
- Facilitating training for teachers
- Scheduling and assigning rooms (if in-person learning)
- Facilitating communication with parents
- Dealing with discipline issues as well as monitoring student behavior during transitions and student gatherings
- Being available throughout the designated school day (first in/last out)
- The director will need to commit more time to preparing for Summer School
- The director will communicate student outcomes at the completion of summer school with principals
