Smelting Point, LLC is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Tire Dismantler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely disassembling used tires, separating tire components, and preparing them for recycling or disposal. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean work environment are essential for the smooth operation of our tire dismantling process.
Duties
- Safely and efficiently dismantle used tires following established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Utilize hand tools, machinery, and equipment to remove tire components such as beads, treads, sidewalls, and steel belts.
- Separate and sort dismantled tire components for recycling or disposal, ensuring accurate categorization.
- Inspect tire components for damage, wear, or defects, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Operate tire shredding equipment, monitoring the process to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area by disposing of waste materials and storing tools properly.
- Adhere to all safety protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental hazards.
- Collaborate with the team to optimize processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in tire dismantling, automotive maintenance, or related field is beneficial.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and tire dismantling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail for identifying defects and irregularities in tire components.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and manipulate heavy tire components.
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety practices and commitment to following safety guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

Physical Requirements:
This role involves standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting heavy objects regularly. Candidates must be comfortable working in environments with noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
