Job Summary: The Detailer is responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications and other
contract documents to prepare accurate schedules for doors, frames, and hardware
on commercial construction projects.

Work hours: Monday thru Friday 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 PM with a 1-hour unpaid lunch

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Review construction documents and understand scope of work, contractual obligations, specifications, and construction schedules.
• Accurately create hardware sets based on room functions.
• Enter costs and products into the computer system based on opening.
• Address significant variances between detailed and estimated costs.
• Prepare shop drawings, schedules, and submittals using manufacturer catalog cut sheets, and industry specific software.
• Provide technical assistance to project managers, sales, and purchasing staff.
• Provide initial RFI’s to architects when there are questions/concerns with specifications, drawings or hardware sets.
• Assist Project Mangers with change orders, ASI, and RFI’s.
• Obtain approved Manufactures quotations.
• Accomplish any other special projects and duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Sit for long periods
• Long periods of computer usage/ monitor viewing
• Repetitive use of hands and fingers
• Ability to listen and talk to customers/ suppliers
• Regularly lift or move up to 20 pounds

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with the commercial door & hardware industry
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
