HR Manager:
We are hiring a Human Resources Manager to join our management team in a mid-size union manufacturing company. Position open due to retirement of a 24 year employee.
Seeking self-motivated individual with a background working in a union manufacturing environment and experience in recruitment, employee relations, compliance and benefits administration.
Responsibilities:
Union:
- Participate with the President and Business Operations Manager in union contract negotiations
- Prepare warnings, process terminations, and assure consistent compliance with the contract
- Work with internal and local union representatives to assist employees and work through any concerns
- Post internal union position needs and recruit new employees for both union and non-union positions, review resumes, interview, conduct background screening and schedule pre-employment physicals
- Complete new employee onboarding
- Review next year's benefit renewal options, calculate costs to the employees and the company, and present recommendations to the President and Owners
- Work with outside provider to set up on-line enrollment
- Assist employees with their enrollment, answering questions to help them make their benefit choices
- Set up benefit deductions in the payroll system, and make changes throughout the year as employees benefit needs change
- COBRA administration
- Approve and assure accuracy of monthly benefit invoices
- Work with employees to submit STD and LTD claims
- Comply with federal and state requirements and track days taken under FMLA, ADA, ESST and Paid Leave programs
- EEO regulatory reporting and compliance
- Manage and process worker's compensation claims and return to work restrictions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- 4 years of experience in Human Resources
- Experience with employee relations for both union and non-union environment, including union contract negotiations and compliance
- Strong Excel and MS Office skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to completing tasks
- Strong comprehensive knowledge of state and federal laws and other applicable compliance requirements
- Strong knowledge of benefits and administration
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to bring new ideas and concepts to the table
- Ability to build and foster strong relationships with employees at all levels
- Extended periods of sitting or standing at work station
- Ability to move around our manufacturing plant
- Occasional bending and lifting less than 20 lbs
- Compensation Range $80,000 to $100,000
