What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transitional and Independent Living Coach (PALS) position at Central Plains Center for Services?
Job Description:
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of disconnected youth and young adults aged between 14 and 26? Do you firmly believe in the potential of young people and wish to see them thrive? If you possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy building meaningful relationships, then we encourage you to apply for this position.
We are currently seeking a coach in the North Platte area for a full-time, salaried position. The job entails offering holistic, personalized, equitable, and genuine transitional and independent living skills to youth and young adults, through our coaching, educational, financial literacy, and leadership services.
Our goal is to provide one-on-one, trauma-informed, strength-based, and healing-centered guidance by developing authentic connections with youth who are unconnected from supportive adults, to help them identify their purpose and reach their goals. Unconnected young adults include those who have experiences in the foster care and juvenile justice systems, are pregnant and parenting, are experiencing housing instability or homelessness, and are vulnerable or victims of human trafficking.
The ability to connect meaningfully with young adults and build trust is vital, as relationships are critical for this rewarding profession aimed at helping young adults stabilize and thrive in their lives. This highly autonomous position requires high integrity, professionalism, independence, humility, a self-driven mindset, and an optimistic outlook. The job will require travel throughout the central service area to meet with program participants in person.
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, flexible scheduling, officing from home, paid time off/vacation/sick pay, mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate of 65 cents per mile, retirement plans, and other incentives for a rewarding and long-lasting career.
Additionally, we offer financial incentives to supplement the salaries of staff participating in our Wellness, Professional Development, and Cultural Engagement programs.
