We are currently hiring for a Quarry Superintendent in Hannibal, MO. This position will oversee a large, open-pit, limestone quarry with 15-20 employees (including an assistant superintendent), depending on the season. In this leadership position you will engage with the employees to meet operational goals, while maintaining a positive and growth minded culture. Safety is first and foremost, and your actions must reflect that safety first mindset. Being an aggregate quarry, we follow all MSHA rules and regulations, and applicants familiar with such practices are preferred, though it is not required. Major Quarry Superintendent Responsibilities Include:

• Follow and enforce Mine Safety and Health Administration rules and regulations, working in tandem with the company Safety Department.
• Direct and supervise all production activities, from drilling and blasting, to quality control of final products.
• Ensure all equipment and personnel are ready for operation at the start of each scheduled production shift. For maintenance days: ensure all materials and plans are ready and available for your team prior to the start of the shift.
• Work closely with the corporate Equipment Manager and Area Operations Managers to develop and execute proper maintenance plans and strive for optimal efficiency of plant operations at all times.
• Work in coordination with the Area Production Manager and Area Sales Manager to determine required inventory and production demands.
• Ensure the competence and development of employees by initiating training, coaching, counseling, or discipline procedures on a continuous basis.
• Work in coordination with the Mine Development Department to execute efficient extraction of material per the mine design plan.

The Ideal Quarry Superintendent Candidate Will Have:

• 5 years background experience in quarry operations and personnel management.
• Strong team-building and coaching skills.
• A commitment to integrity.
• Self-motivation with a strong ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• An attitude of continuous improvement.
• An ability to utilize an objective approach to problem solving.
• An ability to build staff support and exhibit negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication skills – listening, verbal, written (report writing), and presentation.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Tools.
• A valid driver's license with good driving record.
