Scheduling Coordinator - Cardiac Cath Lab

Our new Cardiovascular Interventional suite offers the complete integration of leading-edge imaging and technology to diagnose and treat patients with cardiovascular disease and other conditions using minimally invasive alternatives to surgical procedures. Our ‘Suite” team consists of expert Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons, Electrophysiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, Radiology technologists and Registered Nurses collaborating to provide innovative personalized care to our community.

The Scheduling Coordinator assists in the Cardiovascular Interventional Suite with greeting of general clerical assistance, schedule surgical procedures as necessary. The Scheduling Coordinator will provide waiting room area reception, greeting patients and families and scheduling cases. 

Responsibilities

• Review case for the day and gather necessary information to present at huddle
• For all cases (scheduled and in depo) call the physicians for procedure start times and communicate with lead.
• Coordinate patient transport requests.
• Round regularly on the unit.
• Identify and document times of physician and patient arrivals, delays, and reasons for delays.
• Screen calls.
• Ensure gowns, booties, and bouffants are stocked at entry areas.
• Management of facility request, office supplies, and purchase requisitions.
• Assistance with ordering of supplies.
• Continuous monitoring of pending cases and following through with details surrounding scheduling the case.
• Physicians, IR, anesthesia, ECHO
• Fill out IR checklist with assistance from the patient’s nurse.
• Ensure procedure logs are uploaded daily with all components within the log.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma Or Equivalent required
• 1 year of clerical experience required
• Experience with medical terminology required. Ability to use standard office machines, including typewrites, copiers, multi-line phones and facsimile machines.
• Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team
