In this role, you will:
Data Integration & Pipeline Development:
- Design and develop robust, scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory or similar frameworks.
- Ensure seamless ingestion and integration of structured and unstructured data from various sources into cloud storage.
- Build and maintain data workflows in Azure, with a strong emphasis on ADLS Gen2 for storage and dynamic compute environments such as Azure Databricks or Synapse Analytics.
- Optimize data architecture for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Database Management & Query Optimization:
- Develop efficient SQL queries for data transformation and analysis.
- Leverage Databricks for processing large volumes of data and enabling analytical workloads.
- Write clean, modular Python code to build and maintain data transformation pipelines.
- Combine Python and SQL logic effectively to streamline data workflows.
- Software Engineering Practices:
- Use GitHub for version control and collaboration across development teams.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment of data pipeline components.
- Contribute to infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform to provision and manage cloud resources as code (experience with Terraform is a plus).
- Experienced in modern data engineering practices, particularly in Azure cloud environments.
- Proficient in building data pipelines with Azure Data Factory, Python, and SQL.
- Comfortable working in collaborative, agile development environments with strong software engineering discipline.
- Familiar with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform) and DevOps practices.
- A problem-solver who enjoys working on complex data challenges and making systems more efficient and scalable.
- 3 years of experience in data engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks or Synapse.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and code-first infrastructure approaches.
- Exposure to data lake design, metadata management, and best practices around cloud data governance
